Authorities have seized over 12,000 doses of unlicensed weight-loss injections from a luxury Georgian country house in Northamptonshire, believed to be a large-scale illicit manufacturing facility. The property, valued at £2.2 million and used as a high-end events venue, was raided as part of an ongoing investigation into unlicensed medicines, including experimental drugs like retatrutide and tirzepatide. The operation, described as the largest of its kind in the UK, points to a sophisticated criminal network exploiting a prestigious estate.
More than 12,000 doses of illegal weight-loss injections have been seized from a suspected black-market drugs factory in a £2.2 million Georgian country house. Moulton Grange in Northamptonshire was raided on May 28 as part of an ongoing investigation into unlicensed medicines.
Officers from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) arrested two 29-year-old men, who were later released. The mansion, boasting 28 acres of landscaped private grounds, is known as a luxury wedding and corporate events venue. Online reviews praise it as 'the perfect venue' and 'simply magical', with one couple saying it 'exceeded all our expectations'.
However, authorities suspect it was being used as a 'large-scale facility to manufacture, assemble, and distribute unlicensed weight loss medicines, including retatrutide and tirzepatide, as well as peptide products'. Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in the licensed diabetes and weight-loss drug Mounjaro, while retatrutide is an experimental treatment still undergoing clinical trials. The MHRA described the raid as the UK's largest seizure of unlicensed weight-loss injections and said it was targeting an 'organised criminal group'.
The property, an 'outstanding' example of an English country house, features a grand Georgian facade and a sumptuous interior with chandeliers, period furnishings, and ornate carved fireplaces. Spanning 19,989 square feet, the house includes 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a ballroom, a billiards room, several reception rooms, a kitchen-breakfast room, and staff accommodation.
Constructed mainly in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the stately home is Grade II-listed and was last sold for £2.2 million in 2017, according to Land Registry records. The wider estate, located around seven miles north of Northampton near the village of Pitsford, has a lake, lawns, sheep pasture, and a grotto. The property is owned by Faiz Hameed, 61, and Rashda Hameed, 59, who are also directors of Moulton Grange Limited, a property management company.
It is unclear whether they live at the estate. In 2014, Faiz Hameed was fined £312,000 after an investigation into eight houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) he owned in Northampton. Northampton Magistrates' Court heard he had ignored essential housing standards, putting tenants at risk through inadequate licensing, fire safety violations, and poor maintenance. Pictures from the raid showed dozens of cardboard boxes and containers full of injections scattered across cluttered rooms.
It was the second MHRA operation in Northamptonshire in recent months linked to the alleged production of illegal weight-loss jabs. A previous raid on a warehouse in October 2025 led to the seizure of more unlicensed drugs, but significantly fewer than the number recovered at Moulton Grange. While counterfeit weight-loss drugs have been found before, investigators say the raids were the first time they had uncovered an operation producing drugs marketed under its own brand.
The products were branded 'Alluvi', matching a trademark application filed in April 2026 by a firm based on an industrial estate in Northampton. Andy Morling, head of the MHRA's Criminal Enforcement Unit, said the packaging found in the manor house raid looked 'sophisticated' and 'authentic-looking'. He added: 'Medicines regulation isn't discretionary - it exists to protect people.
