He added: “If we had that core, minimum baseload, together with what we can bring from other parts of the Alstom business to bolt around that core baseload, we can support that site for 18 months to two years.” He said that with a gap in orders looming, Alstom approached the Government in May last year “with some very specific, practical, opportunities that we believe were easy to implement”.
