The UK Government will invest £20 million into local EV chargers, installing 1000 new charge points in areas including Durham, North Yorkshire and Kent
The RAC also noted the positives of the investment, particularly for those who lack access to private charging.
“Drivers can also look forward to the prospect of local charging hubs, which will give them somewhere to quickly charge their vehicles without needing to drive any considerable distance. The government said further £10m in funding, originally set to be invested in 2023, will be brought forward to this year because of “growing demand from local authorities.”
