Downing Street has just sent out its read-out from this morning’s cabinet, where Rishi Sunak, the chancellor, briefed ministers on what would be in the summer economic update. It is not at all revealing but, for the record, here it is anyway. [The chancellor] said that we have moved through the first phase of the crisis where we supported closed sectors, businesses and families and the challenge now is to support the economy opening up.
