UIW’s Lindsey Scott set for matchup against alma mater Nicholls State
Incarnate Word quarterback Lindsey Scott Jr. jumps into the end zone for a touchdown during the third quarter of Saturday’s conference game against McNeese State at Benson Stadium. After throwing seven first-half touchdown passes and watching from the sideline as Incarnate Word finished off a rout of Lamar, Lindsey Scott showered, went back to his room and pulled up a stream of Nicholls State’s game against Houston Christian.
Though the pinned post on Scott’s Twitter page announcing his transfer still reads “Forever a Colonel,” Scott will return to John L. Guidry Stadium this week on the opposite sideline, leading No. 8 UIW into a matchup with Nicholls at 3 p.m. Saturday. This week, as Scott prepares to make sure the Cardinals do beat the Colonels, UIW coach G.J. Kinne said he hasn’t devoted any extra attention to the quarterback’s mindset.
Even if the Colonels decided to send him onto the field to get under Scott’s skin, “it wouldn’t really work.”
