PETALING JAYA: Debutant UiTM finally chalked up their first win, just before the long league hiatus, by seeing off Police 3-1 in their Super League clash.
After two defeats and a draw, the university side finally came out of their shell, and went ahead through Lebanese winger Rabih Ataya’s free-kick goal in the 12th minute at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam on Sunday.
“Of course, I’m happy to finally get the full points but this is something we expected from this game, it was a good game for us and we have our first win in the league, ” said the German coach. “I’m happy with their performance, we played a good confident game and I hope we can continue our good work.”
They are at the bottom of the 12-team Super League standings with a deficit of two points after the Football Association of Malaysia slapped them with a three-point penalty for failing to settle wages owed to players when they were in the Premier League last season.
