Twenty-year-old could face death penalty after anti-LGBTQ+ legislation was introduced this year

The law – considered one of the harshest of its kind in the world – also includes penalties for consensual same-sex relations of up to life in prison. According to the charge sheet, the 20-year-old suspect was charged on 18 August and is accused of “unlawful sexual intercourse with … [a] male adult aged 41”.
