UFC and MMA fans worldwide have been patiently waiting for the return of Conor McGregor after the first-ever two-division champion broke his leg during a fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021. McGregor's comeback has been a long time coming, with his next scheduled fight set to happen at UFC 303 on June 29 against Michael Chandler.
Now, the plan B could be someone stepping in to fight Chandler, or the plan C could be a whole new fight.'Helwani explains in the above video that initially, everything was moving ahead as scheduled last week for the McGregor vs Chandler fight, but things have now taken a darker turn. He states that he has heard the UFC is attempting to salvage the fight at UFC 303 by finding a replacement for Chandler or scrapping the fight entirely for a new main event.
