Valentina Shevchenko defended her UFC women's flyweight title last night with a decision win over Liz Carmouche at UFC Fight Night 156 from Uruguay.

The loss was Carmouche’s third title fight defeat in a major promotion. She dropped bantamweight title fights under the Strikeforce and UFC banners in the past. The victory was Shevchenko’s second successful defense of the belt.
After the win, Shevchenko said she wanted a third fight against two-division champion Amanda Nunes. Nunes has two decision wins over Shevchenko at 135 pounds.
