UCLA will return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 17, after holding classes remotely this week due to red flag conditions and wildfires. The university will resume in-person work for staff who have been working remotely this weekend. Wildfire conditions have improved, with emergency responders making progress and air quality showing signs of improvement. UCLA Chancellor Julio Frenk announced the end of the emergency status on Friday, January 17 at 5 p.m.

UCLA , which is holding classes remotely this week due to the red flag conditions and the wildfires, will resume in-person instruction on Tuesday, following the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday.

Undergraduate classes were cancelled on Jan. 9 and Jan. 10 and students were taking their courses online due to the wildfires in Pacific Palisades and Altadena and smaller fires in other parts of Los Angeles County.
