UCLA is one of three programs, along with USC and Notre Dame, that has never played an FCS or HBCU opponent, but that will change for the Bruins on Saturday afternoon.
When the UCLA football team kicks off against Alabama State at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, the Bruins will remove themselves from a short list of teams that have never played against an FCS or HBCU opponent.
“This is an opportunity to do something we haven’t done and have our students, fans, and community benefit in ways that we haven’t.” Per the agreement, Michigan was required to pay UCLA a $1.5 million termination fee by Sept. 12, 2023.
