Yellen and other top U.S. officials say the U.S. economy should be able to skip a recession in 2023, but acknowledge slower growth is likely. Doug Barry, former spokesperson for the U.S.-China Business Council, said it was imperative for the two countries to rebuild ties, even as Washington and other Western countries diversify their supply chains and reduce national security vulnerabilities on certain Chinese technologies.
