“From the beginning of this case, Defendant has displayed more concern about how this case may impact her father’s election than about the best interests of (the couple’s infant daughter) and allowing this litigation to proceed expeditiously,” said a document filed Tuesday by Max Miller’s lawyer, Larry Zukerman.
Rep.-elect Max Miller, R-Ohio, and his wife, Emily, arrive for New Member Orientation check-in and program registration at the Hyatt Regency, in Washington, Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022. CLEVELAND, Ohio - An attorney representing U.S. Rep. Max Miller in his divorce from Emily Moreno Miller on Tuesday accused the other side of “bad faith gamesmanship” and trying to delay production of her financial documents until the U.S.
“Nevertheless, Plaintiff filed this action on August 27, 2024 without any regard to any impact it may have on the election because nothing is more important to Plaintiff than his daughter,” Max Miller’s legal papers said. Max Miller’s filing on Tuesday said that it took until October 25 for Emily Moreno Miller to reply to his August 27 divorce complaint and said Helfman’s firm has administrative staff and associate attorneys to help her handle the case.
“Admit that you claim that, between August 11, 2022 and August 5, 2023, your Net Worth increased by over $2,000,000,” Miller’s discovery request states. In addition, that discovery request asked her to admit that she “or an individual or entity” acting on her behalf bought a house in Westlake on July 1 without telling Max Miller; that she took their baby, two dogs. and her belongings from their marital residence on Aug. 1 “without telling plaintiff and without the intention to return” and that she sent a moving van to their marital residence the next day to remove more household items including baby care items.
