The USPS recently sent out a reminder for everyone ahead of the shutdown.
Published: Nov. 20, 2025, 6:00 a.m.Folks are finalizing those big Thanksgiving Day plans around the country, and the United States Postal Service wants to make sure they are planning ahead when it comes to their mail, too.
So, while it may seem obvious, the postal service this week issued a reminder that it will also be observing the federal holiday on Nov. 27. That means that all of its locations will be closed, and regular mail delivery and retail services will be shut down, too.Only Priority Mail Express will run on Thanksgiving Day, according to the postal service. While the locations will be closed, the USPS also issued a reminder that it has more than 2,600 self-service kiosks in the lobbies of some of its locations.
