The officer has been investigating an offense that occurred in U.S. Park Police jurisdiction when two armed male suspects approached and fired multiple shots at the vehicle as it drove away. MPD said the officer was able to drive away. The injured officer was flown by the U.S. Park Police aviation unit to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged, according to MPD. Police said 21-year-old Darren Foster of Southeast, DC, was located and stopped shortly after the shooting on Monday. On Tuesday, officers located a second suspect, 22-year-old Asheile Foster of Southeast, DC.Court records show that Asheile Foster was previously charged with motor vehicle theft, a weapons violation, and more.
