Scottie Scheffler is once again in rarified air ahead of the U.S. Open.
Those are the shortest pre-major tournament odds for any golfer since Tiger Woods was +180 before the 2009 PGA Championship. Last weekend, Scheffler won the Memorial Tournament to become the first player since Tom Watson in 1980 to have five PGA Tour wins before the U.S. Open.Since mid-March, he’s won five of his eight starts, including the Masters in April.
It’s not the first time Scheffler has entered a major tournament as a historic favorite this season.
