A 27-year-old U.S. Navy officer from Philadelphia has died after crashing while riding a gas-powered scooter last week in Cape May County, authorities said.
Ronald Shousky was traveling on Fire Lane in Lower Township at about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, when he crashed, a police spokesman said. Shousky died of his injuries at an area hospital on Wednesday. Police are still investigating how the crash took place, but said Shousky didn’t strike a tree or a sign, nor was he hit by another vehicle. They said he was wearing a helmet when the incident occurred.
