In a collaborative effort, an aircrew with the U.S. Coast Guard played a key role in assisting the Royal Bahamas Police Force and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration with the seizure and transfer of a significant amount of narcotics. About 862 pounds of cocaine was successfully intercepted at the Mayaguana Airport in The Bahamas on Tuesday, according to the Coast Guard.Multiple law enforcement agencies seized the suspected smuggling aircraft at the airport. The suspect was taken into custody, according to the RBPF. This successful bust comes shortly after the 2024 Northern Caribbean Security Summit held in The Bahamas earlier this month.
