The U.S. and China made progress "during candid and constructive discussions" on trade in Beijing this week, said a statement from the White House on Friday. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer met with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He and are planning to meet again in Washington next week, the White House said. U.S. stock futures YMM9, +0.56% rose Friday on optimism over the talks.
