U.S. artificial-intelligence export crackdown may hurt people, too GinaChon

The U.S. Commerce Department is reviewing public comments on its proposal to impose export controls on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics and biotechnology. If adopted, the government could prohibit exports of certain products to buyers from China and elsewhere unless a license is obtained.

Regulations define an export to include the release of technology or software to a foreign national in the United States, as it can be considered an export to that person’s home country.
