The U.N. passed a resolution criticizing Russia for its role in the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ukraine. The nonbinding resolution demanded “an immediate cessation of the hostilities by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.”
The nonbinding resolution passed Thursday with 140 countries voting in favor of the measure, 38 abstaining and five voting against it.The United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution criticizing Russia for its role in the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ukraine.
The resolution demanded “an immediate cessation of the hostilities by the Russian Federation against Ukraine, in particular of any attacks against civilians and civilian objects.”
