Rico Burton had been charged with one offence of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, relating to an alleged incident in 2018
Rico Burton, the cousin of heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury, died after being stabbed to death outside a bar in the Goose Green area of Altrincham in the early hours of August 21. At a recent mention hearing at Minshull Street Crown Court, it was said that the 31-year-old had been charged with one offence of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
“I am satisfied that this man is deceased and the indictment should be marked as such. I declare that the file is now closed.” Judge Dean told O’Prey the next hearing in his case will be held on October 21 and a provisional date for his trial, expected to last seven days, was set for February 6 next year. No bail application was made and O’Prey was remanded into custody.
