Arrowverse star Tyler Hoechlin explains his cut Superman cameo in The Flash season 8, as the Man of Steel almost showed up on Barry Allen's show.
The Flash season 8 almost had a Superman cameo as Tyler Hoechlin speaks about the scrapped Arrowverse appearance. The Arrowverse is on its last legs, with The Flash season 9 concluding in a few weeks, while Superman & Lois season 3 will air its finale in late June. While initially conceived as an Arrowverse spinoff, Superman & Lois season 2 revealed that it takes place on a parallel Earth in the franchise's larger multiverse.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT At this year's Ultimates event in England, Hoechlin was one of several Arrowverse stars who attended, which included panels with fan Q&As . When asked if there were plans to integrate Superman & Lois into the larger Arrowverse, Hoechlin revealed that while his show wouldn't have crossed paths with the other shows, he would have played Earth-Prime's Superman in The Flash's Armageddon event during season 8.
According to earlier reports, The CW's scripted shows are expected to be less than three series, with All American season 6 already having secured one of those slots. Superman & Lois isn't the only show that is waiting to learn its fate as The CW has yet to decide on Walker, Walker: Independence, Kung Fu, All American: Homecoming, The Winchesters, and Gotham Knights If only two more shows are getting picked up, Superman & Lois has some competitors, to say the least.
The Arrowverse's future is also facing a new obstacle as the Writers Guild of America strike could potentially have a significant role in whether or not Superman & Lois gets another season. With several shows still up in the air and the strike, time will tell how things will play out in the coming months. Depending on how things go, Superman & Lois may be ending the same year as The Flash season 9.
