OAKLAND — A 60-year-old woman asleep inside her Eastlake District apartment was wounded by a stray bullet early Wednesday, one of two people shot about 8½ hours apart, police said.Both were in stable condition, police said.
The woman was inside her apartment in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue about 5 a.m., when the stray bullet hit her in the back, police said. Police have not determined what the shooting was about or exactly where the shots were fired.The East Oakland shooting victim was outside when he was shot in the abdomen, police said. Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation about 8:40 p.m. Tuesday in the 1500 block of 77th Avenue in East Oakland.
The man was gone by the time officers arrived. Another person took him to a hospital, where he underwent surgery, police said.
