“The idea, I had been thinking about it for years, a way for me to be able to give back,” said Cole, who just completed a season with Osos de Manati in Puerto Rico’s top league in the spring. The Heat would down San Antonio in Game 7 of the NBA Finals the following season. Cole would go on to play with the New Orleans Pelicans before kickstarting an impressive run abroad. Since 2017, he’s won championships in top-tier leagues in France, Israel, China and Italy.
