Tye’s father shared his agonizing wait for information, desperately trying to piece together what had happened to his son.Denver7 reporter Veronica Acosta witnessed a somber scene at a reunification center set up at Bergen Meadow Elementary, where families anxiously awaited word of their children's safety. At least six school buses carrying students were seen arriving at the center. Brenner Johnson, a student at Evergreen Middle School, described hearing a lockdown announcement over the intercom moments before the chaos erupted. His mother, Shannon Taylor, relayed her overwhelming relief upon receiving a text message confirming her son's safety. As a parent of a child who experienced the Columbine tragedy, Taylor shared her deep empathy for the faculty and students grappling with this unimaginable event. Victoria Hutchen, a parent of an Evergreen High School student, described the evacuation scene as chaotic, with backpacks and water bottles scattered along the road leading to the school. Sophomore Charlie Hutchen recounted the moments leading up to the shooting, describing the sudden commotion before hearing two gunshots while he was in the cafeteria. Dax Schraad, another sophomore, shared his terrifying experience of running for his life, witnessing classmates dropping their belongings as they fled the threat. He eventually took refuge in a nearby resident's home, pounding on their door until they opened it.Law enforcement agencies assured the community that a thorough room-by-room search of the school had been conducted, and no additional suspects or devices were found
