The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-55 near the I-80 intersection. One of the trucks was carrying 50,000 pounds of water and the other was hauling 80,000 pounds of soy beans.The southbound lanes of I-55 have been closed between Route 59 and I-80 as crews attempt to clear the roadway.
