ALOR STAR: Two Rohingya boys have been found drowned in a mining pond at Kampung Permatang Kedondong, Tikam Batu near Sungai Petani.
According to Tikam Batu Fire and Rescue station chief Supt Mohd Syukri Hashim, the body of Mamod Shukur Belal Hussain, four, was found about 400m from a quarry at 8.05am on Sunday .
"The body of the second victim, Md Nasim Hairul Husson, six, was found later at about 2.50pm, 15m from the location where he slipped and fell into the pond," he said in a statement on Sunday . On Saturday , a team from Tikam Batu fire station rushed to the scene after police alerted them of the incident at 9.43pm.The children were also United Nations High Commission for Refugees cardholders. – Bernama
