A man and woman were taken to hospital after they were pulled from a car following a horror crash in Kilmarnock.
Emergency services including two fire appliances raced to Old Mill Road in the town centre on Wednesday morning after a two vehicle smash.Video footage seen by Ayrshire Live showed how hero rescue workers used specialist equipment to cut open the flipped motor, with teams reaching in to haul occupants out.
Police have since confirmed that a man and a woman were rushed to Crosshouse Hospital to be checked over. It is understood that no one was seriously injured as a result of the crash.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.20am on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, officers were called to reports of a two vehicle crash in Old Mill Road, Kilmarnock.
“Emergency services attended and a man and a woman from one of the vehicles were taken to Crosshouse Hospital to be checked over.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.25am on Wednesday, March 13 to reports of a road traffic incident involving one vehicle on Old Mill Road, Kilmarnock."One casualty was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left after ensuring the area was safe.
