A 90-year-old man and 79-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called to the A7 between Galashiels and Selkirk on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on the A7 between Galashiels and Selkirk at around 3.25pm on Saturday.
A blue Ford Fiesta had collided with a silver Honda Jazz at the junction with the B7060. A 90-year-old man and 79-year-old were both sadly pronounced dead at the scene by medics. Police closed the road for around three hours to allow for a full accident investigation to take place. And investigators are now appealing for witnesses or for anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Iain McIntyre said: “Our thoughts are with the families of the man and woman who died and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. “We are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch. Anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation is also asked to contact us.”Top news stories today Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here .
