Two north coast families are in mourning, after separate drowning incidents at a dam, over the weekend. 🕊️ ECRNewsWatch KZN

On Saturday, community members pulled a man from the water at the infamous Nseleni quarry dam.The City of uMhlathuze says rescue teams then recovered the body of a 47-year-old man on Sunday who also entered the dam later that day.

Spokesperson Bongani Gina says water samples were tested which is why they have been urging people not to swim in the dam because it is unsafe."We continue to plead with residents of Nseleni and surrounding areas to avoid swimming at this unprotected dam because no one knows how dangerous or deep it is and what's in it.

"We plead with residents to use the designated swim areas like the Nseleni Swimming Pool or the Richards Bay and nearby swimming pools."
