Two men allegedly held a family at gunpoint for ransom for days, pistol-whipped and burned a man, and threatened his infant child.

Capt. John Ryan, commanding officer of the Northeast Detective Division, speaks on Feb. 7 about a hostage situation in Holmesburg. Two men have been arrested in connection with the crime and are accused of torturing a man and his family over the course of two days while demanding money and other items.

Additional suspects are still at large, said Capt. John Ryan, commanding officer of the Northeast Detective Division. He said investigators are working with federal authorities to learn more about the incident. A spokesperson at the FBI’s Philadelphia division declined to comment. The Defender Association of Philadelphia, which is representing Clark, did not respond to a request for comment. The group wore gloves and masks, police said, and held the man hostage for the weekend along with his wife, 10-month-old child, and two others — the man’s 68-year-old father and a family friend who had stopped by the house to check on them.
