A house explosion in Cache County sent at least two people to the hospital, one in critical condition; another person from the home is missing.
NEWTON, Utah — Two people were critically injured and another is missing after a Cache County house explosion Wednesday night.Calls to report the explosion and possible burn victims came in at approximately 6 p.m. to the Cache County Sheriff's Office.When fire units arrived they found one person outside the home and a second could be heard inside the home yelling for help.
According to a neighbor who saw the explosion and spoke to FOX 13 News, he smelled propane gas and heard cries for help from inside the structure. The neighbor said could not get to the people inside, so ran home to tell his wife to call 911. The unidentified person inside the home was rescued around 6:30 p.m. Both occupants found were transported to Logan Regional and Cache Valley Hospital; one is reported to be in critical condition.
Another neighbor said that the explosion blew pieces of the house hundreds of yards away onto his property.
