We think more Glasgow restaurants deserve to be in there!
An influential UK restaurant guide has just released its top 100 UK restaurants for 2023 and Glasgow has two top restaurants making the list.
Cail Bruich was named highest for Glasgow in the Harden's Guide in 50th place, which is based on ratings submitted by 3,000 diners who contribute to their annual survey.Other restaurants hailed by the guide included GaGa on Dumbarton Road, Dakhin in the Merchant City, Ka Pao in the west end and Battlefield Rest in the southside.Scotland had eight entries in total with Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at The Gleneagles Hotel in Perthshire being crowned the UK's overall top restaurant.
Speaking about the latest release of the guide, which is now the only UK restaurant guide sold in bookshops based on feedback from normal diners rather than a group of professional inspectors, Peter Harden, co-founder of Harden’s, said: "Andrew Fairlie may sadly no longer be with us but his spirit lives on in this restaurant which bears his name. Reaching the top spot this year is a huge credit to his long-time lieutenants, head chef Stephen McLaughlin and general manager Dale Dewsbury.
