According to the Quezon City Health Department , seven fireworks-related cases were recorded in different hospitals in the city from Dec. 21, 2020 to Jan. 2, 2021. Data from the Online National Electronic Injury Surveillance System-Fireworks Related Injuries of the DOH indicated an 11 percent decrease this year from the 96 fireworks-related incidents that occurred on Jan. 1, 2021.
The Pasig City General Hospital recorded 16 fireworks-related cases, 13 of which were related to New Year’s Day celebrations, and three were brought to the hospital on Dec. 25.
