Lottery Winners and The Slow Readers Club will be joining Noel Gallagher at Robin Park in Wigan this summer
Leigh’s Lottery Winners will be one of two big local acts supporting Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds on their upcoming summer show at Wigan’s Robin Park.
Announced at the end of last year, the Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds gig at Robin Park will see the band perform in front of 11,500 people - a limited number of tickets are still available here. The band, which recently released their critically-acclaimed fourth studio album Council Skies, are set to perform a wide selection of their hits alongside Oasis classics.
Speaking about supporting the band, Lottery Winners posted on social media: "We’re absolutely over the moon to support our hero and friend @NoelGallagher and his High Flying Birds at his iconic Robin Park show this summer. Doesn’t get much more special for us than this." The Slow Readers Club added that they were 'buzzin for this one'.
Last summer, the band - made up of Noel alongside Mike Rowe, Chris Sharrock, Russell Pritchard, Gem Archer and Jessica Greenfield - performed in front of 25,000 people as part of a huge sold-out show at Wythenshawe Park. During the ‘triumphant homecoming’ show, Noel made light-hearted jibes at Manchester United as crowds sang back lyrics to his classic tracks.
