Two policemen died while four others were wounded when gunmen ambushed a police vehicle conducting mobile patrol in Shariff Aguak town of Maguindanao on Wednesday night, June 14. ManilaBulletin
Gen. Benjamin Acorda, Jr., chief of the Philippine National Police , condemned the attack and instructed the local police forces to conduct aggressive pursuit operations and investigation to identify those responsible in the ambush.
The four wounded cops were Police Chief Master Sgt. Vincent Gertos, Police Staff Sgt. Benjie delos Reyes, Patrolman Arjie Val Louie Pabinguit and Patrolman Abdulgafor Alib. “The men and women of the Philippine National Police show grief over the untimely passing of our two non-police commissioned officers and wounding of four others in an ambush staged by still unknown assailants,” said Acorda in a statement.
