Tyran Williams, 32, and Steve L. Lane, 29, both of Chicago, have been charged with multiple felonies in the Dec. 23 shootout at Oakbrook Center mall.
While at least 15,000 people shopped at Oakbrook Center mall two days before Christmas, three men got into an argument near the Auntie Anne’s pretzel shop and two of them fired a dozen shots, injuring four bystanders and sending shoppers fleeing, prosecutors said Wednesday.
Lane entered the mall around 5:30 p.m. with a man who wore a blue puffer coat, Berlin said. Surveillance video shows the two men entering and leaving a Victoria’s Secret store before walking toward the pretzel shop, where they got into the confrontation. Investigators recovered both guns and found DNA matched to Lane and Williams on the weapons, Berlin said.
