Two car crashes on a Houston freeway leaves a woman arrested for DWI and another with a citation
Two crashes involving four vehicles took place right after one another early Saturday morning on North Loop East freeway.A woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated after blocking traffic causing a crash, officials said.Houston police reported that an orange sedan went across a median on the freeway and blocked lanes of traffic.
“In the process, she cracked her oil pan, lost control of her car and she ended up disabled in a moving lane on the entrance ramp,” said Houston police Sgt. David Rose.MORE ON CRIME:A Houston police sergeant arrived at the scene and tried to block traffic, officials said. “None of those people were injured, they’re both on scene, and patrol is handling that crash,” Rose said. “That sergeant responded to that crash and shortly after he made it to the scene he asked four units to help shut it down because it’s a dangerous spot.”
While the sergeant was out there, a blue Kia sedan struck the officer’s patrol car, authorities said. “About that time, he got hit from behind by a blue Kia operated by an adult female,” Rose said. “We believe she’s impaired so our DWI task forces arrested her and taken her in for processing.”The driver of the blue vehicle was placed in custody for driving while intoxicated and the driver of the orange sedan that initially caused the crash received a citation, according to Rose.
