A Stark County grand jury has handed an indictment of reckless homicide against two Canton police officers following the death of Frank E. Tyson.

Tyson, a 53-year-old Black man, died April 18 after he was handcuffed and left facedown on the floor of a social club while telling officers he couldn't breathe.
The officers could face a maximum prison sentence of three years and up to a $10,000 fine, Stone said. He told reporters Saturday afternoon that he couldn’t answer many questions because the case is pending, and he couldn’t share grand jury testimony. “The narrative has been, ‘He deserved it,’” DiCello said. “No victim should be criticized for the crimes they undergo. And so now that Frank is officially a victim, God help us all, it’s important that we do what the Tyson family wants us to do which is trust this process.”
