Police say two brothers are charged with murder after Jorge Sanchez was killed. His family says he never knew he was about to become a father.
Two brothers have been charged with murder in the death of Jorge Sanchez following a confrontation near Lake June Road and Peachtree, according to police.
For Sanchez's family, the loss has been made even more painful by news they learned one day after his death: Sanchez was about to become a father. Before the confrontation turned deadly, Moreno said Sanchez had become concerned about men who had been driving aggressively.
"He said, all right, I'm gonna go now. I'ma just make sure that those guys don't follow me. I love you, and I'll see you when you get out of work," said Moreno. According to an arrest affidavit, witnesses told police that Moises Mora blocked Sanchez's vehicle at a stoplight.
Investigators said a fight broke out between the two men. Moments later, police said Daniel Mora got out of a truck and pulled out a gun.
"There was no reason to shoot my brother 11 times. Like, there was no reasons at all. My brother, all he did was just defend himself," said Sanchez.
"He got shot from the back. He didn't even have time to react," said Sanchez. Moreno said she hopes to honor Sanchez's memory through their child. Later, Moreno reflected on the future she now faces without him.
