More than 100 firefighters attended the 10th alarm call - the most severe of its type - after the blaze erupted on Randle Street and destroyed the heritage-listed Surry Hills building on May 25.

Dozens were evacuated as plumes of thick smoke drifted over the city, the exterior wall sent debris flying onto the streets and two neighbouring buildings were so damaged they were eventually demolished. Two teenagers have been charged over the massive inferno which engulfed a vacant seven storey building in Central Sydney.They will face court on charges of destroying property worth more than $5000 using fire and entering enclosed land without a lawful excuse.
