In October, Danny Allen was convicted of fatally shooting his stepfather, Thomas Cervantes Moreno, in what authorities called an unprovoked attack. Moreno had been arguing with his wife in their Willowbrook Drive home in March 2019 when Allen entered the room and opened fire. Aaron Trevino was also sentenced last week in the 187th District Court by Judge Stephanie Boyd. Trevino was found guilty by a jury of setting a woman on fire. She was burned on 50 percent of her body.

“It is my sincere hope that these substantial prison sentences bring justice to the victims and their families and that it sends a strong message in our community that domestic violence will not be tolerated,” District Attorney Joe D. Gonzales said.
