Two Delaware men face felony charges after an armed robbery during a vehicle exchange. The incident, which involved a dispute over a damaged car and a mask-wearing suspect, led to the arrests of Reese and Eugene Hendricks.

Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in May in Stanton, Delaware, according to the New Castle County Police Department.

The incident unfolded a day after the victim and one of the suspects, identified as 18-year-old Reese Hendricks, had exchanged vehicles. The investigation determined that the victim had traded his Volkswagen for Hendricks' Honda. Subsequently, Hendricks contacted the victim and requested to reverse the exchange. The victim agreed and met with Reese Hendricks, who was accompanied by 38-year-old Eugene Hendricks, to swap the vehicles back.

During this meeting, the victim observed that his Volkswagen, which he had previously traded, now had functional damage and confronted Hendricks about it. As the argument escalated, Reese Hendricks temporarily left the scene and returned wearing different clothing and a mask. At that point, Eugene Hendricks allegedly brandished a handgun at the victim and another person who had accompanied the victim, demanding the return of the Honda.

Before fleeing, both suspects reportedly took property from the second victim's car, then entered the Honda and drove away. On July 1, detectives located Reese Hendricks at his Newark residence and took him into custody. He faces charges including two counts of attempted robbery, one count of conspiracy, one count of firearm possession by a prohibited person, and one count of wearing a disguise during a felony.

He was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post $44,000 cash bail. A week later, on July 8, Eugene Hendricks was arrested at his New Castle home. He is charged with two counts of attempted robbery, two counts of aggravated menacing, one count of firearm possession during a felony, one count of conspiracy, and one count of firearm possession by a prohibited person.

He was also committed to the same correctional facility after failing to post $197,000 cash bail
