At approximately 9:15 p.m. last night, Munson Volunteer Fire Rescue was dispatched to a second-alarm commercial structure fire on Old Plant Road in the Jay community. Tanker 19 and Chief 19 responded directly to the scene, located at the old Exxon refinery property.
Upon arrival, crews encountered heavy fire conditions and immediately began coordinated suppression efforts alongside multiple mutual aid departments. While crews worked the fire scene, additional Munson units joined Skyline Fire Rescue to fully staff the Berrydale Fire Station, ensuring continued emergency coverage for the northern district of the county during the incident. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office. Munson Volunteer Fire Rescue extends appreciation to all mutual aid partners who assisted in last night’s operation and to the community for their ongoing support.On 10/25/25 Station 27 responded to a commercial structure fire on Oil Plant Rd. in Jay along with Station 11,14,19,22,24, Escambia Ladder 5, and Flomaton Engine 32, SRSO,Lifeguard Ambulance, Santa Rosa CERT and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
