While his personal wealth decreases, Elon Musk is trying to cut costs at Twitter. Allegedly, this includes the company not paying its rent.
reported Twitter allegedly owes $136,260 in unpaid rent on the downtown San Fransisco building on the 30th floor, according to a lawsuit that the building’s landlord filed last week.
While the office at 650 California Street isn’t the headquarters in the city, the company was served a notice on Dec. 16 saying Twitter would default if rent wasn’t paid in five days. “This company is like, basically, you’re in a plane that is headed towards the ground at high speed with the engines on fire and the controls don’t work,” Musk said exactly five days later on Dec. 21.The landlord is requesting the company pay for back rent, attorney’s fees and other expenses, the news outlet reported.
