Twitter Quietly Changes Its Developer Agreement After Banning Third-Party Apps

The social media platform previously released a statement that it was banning the apps to enforce 'longstanding' rules.

In a section titled “Restrictions on Use of Licensed Materials,” Baio found that Twitter added a sneaky line that reads “You will not attempt to...use or access the Licensed Materials to create or attempt to create a substitute or similar service or product to the Twitter Applications.”Twitter issued a statement on an official account that it would be enforcing “long-standing” rules regarding the platform’s API in the wake of banning apps like Tweetbot and Twitterific.
