Hull City Council is appealing for information and warns fly-tippers could be fined £1,000.

They were reported to Hull City Council after being found on a grassed area next to Bridlington Avenue, near Scotney Close and Goodrich Close, on Monday. It warned anyone found guilty of fly-tipping would receive a £1,000 fine.Councillor Charles Quinn, portfolio holder for environment, said: “Fly-tipping is a crime that we do not tolerate in Hull. It is unsightly, potentially harmful to human health, and damaging to the environment.

“Fridges, in particular, are classified as hazardous waste, and there are strict controls in place for their management, degassing, and disposal at appropriately licensed facilities regulated by the Environment Agency." The council said it believed the incident occurred between Friday and Monday and urged anyone with information to come forward.

The authority said if anyone recognised the waste having come from their property or business, it was "imperative" they contact the council.Dead dog in fly-tipped rubbish, says councillor
