Staff at the new Tweed Valley Hospital say a lack of car parking spaces is forcing them to arrive hours early for shifts, and causing patients to be late for appointments.Anger has flared over a lack of car parking spaces at the largest ever investment in regional NSW's healthcare infrastructure, the new Tweed Valley Hospital .
"If you go and stand on the staff side , you will find that the staff parking is already full; there's nowhere for us to park," she said.The nurse said the frustrating situation had prompted talk among her peers about leaving the hospital to work across the border in Queensland. Mr Satchell initially thought the lack of spaces could be due to staff change-over times, but upon returning for a second attempt, he had the same problem.
Ms Thompson said she had to drive around for more than half an hour to find a car park designated for disabled users, and ended up on the top floor of the multi-level car park."I feel like it's pretty easy to predict that a public hospital is going to be busy always, so I feel like they could have had more foresight.Premier Chris Minns officially opened the facility with Health Minister Ryan Park on Wednesday.
