Turtle landings on the rise amid MCO
Turtle landings on the beaches of Malaysia have increased amid the MCO, but a conservationist says the impact is not definitive as the MCO is a one-off event. – EPA pic, June 26, 2020.
THE Rantau Abang Turtle Conservation and Information Centre in Dungun has recorded a significant increase of turtle landings in the first five months of this year. Rantau Abang TCIC head Mohammad Firdaus Abdillah said during the period, a total of 3,783 turtle landings have been recorded, which was an increase of almost 70% compared to 2,573 in the corresponding period last year.
